Canadians Intervene in Landmark Case to Restore Dominion and Defend Civil Liberties
Federal Appeal to Determine Whether Property Rights and Due Process Still Exist in Canada
Under the banner of the Dominion Restoration Project, a growing group of Canadians is seeking leave to intervene in the case Universal Ostrich Farms Inc. v. Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), now before the Federal Court of Appeal. At stake is nothing less than the future of property rights, due process, and civil liberties in this country.
The case involves federal agents ordering the destruction of a healthy animal flock without due process — no evidence, no fair hearing, and no independent veterinary review. If upheld, the ruling could set a dangerous precedent, granting unchecked power to government authorities to enter private property, seize assets, and issue enforcement orders based only on suspicion, all under threat of heavy fines or jail.
A Crisis of Liberty and Law
This case is emblematic of a broader erosion of Canadian liberties. Farmers and citizens alike are already seeing enforcement actions across the country — particularly in poultry and livestock farms — carried out without transparency, without accountability, and without meaningful legal safeguards.
The CFIA’s actions violate foundational rights enshrined in the Canadian Bill of Rights, including:
Section 1(a): The right to life, liberty, and security of the person — and the right not to be deprived of property except by due process of law.
Section 2(e): The right to a fair hearing in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice.
This case exposes how property can be destroyed, livelihoods ruined, and lives disrupted — not by proven wrongdoing, but by unchallenged bureaucratic discretion. Such legislation, if left intact or improperly interpreted, may even expose responsible officials to personal legal liability, as reflected in court precedents including Campbell Motors v. Gordon (1946) and AG v. Power (2024).
The Dominion Restoration Project: A Call to Action
The Dominion Restoration Project stands for the restoration of lawful government, property rights, and the principles of fundamental justice in Canada. The public is urged to join this historic effort:
